How do I book a service? What is the process?

A booking normally starts with an informal chat - contact me on 07904838156 or contact@experienceanya.com.

If you would like to go ahead with the booking I ask for a 50% deposit to secure the date and the remainder to be paid on the day of the booking itself.

All costs and terms are made clear from the start so you can book with confidence.

Is my deposit refundable?

Unless I have needed to cancel a booking and have not been able to find a suitable replacement, deposits are not refundable but may be transferable

More information is available in the Terms & Conditions.

How much space do you need?

This really depends on the booking itself. I can usually work with whatever space is available - after having been mobile for over 10 years, I have learnt to adapt!

For hair and make-up related services I do usually ask clients to be positioned in front of a mirror, in good lighting (preferably daylight) and with nearby access to electricity.

How should I prepare for my booking?

Since every booking is different there is no 'one size fits all' answer to this.

I wil always give you plenty of information beforehand so that you can be fully prepared.

Where do you travel to?

I am based in Weybridge, Surrey so tend to travel to surrounding areas including London & Greater London. It does however depend on the booking.

My travel is free if you are based within a 5 mile radius of where I am based (KT13) and 40p per mile thereafter. More detailed information about travel charges are in the Terms & Conditions

What happens at the Trial?

The Trial is an opportunity for you and I to meet and try out different styles until we find one you are happy with.

For brides trials are compulsory to ensure that everything flows seamlessly on the big day, but for special occasions, trials are optional.

I always carry out a free and detailed telephone consultation beforehand so that even if you do not have a trial, things will go smoothly on the day of the booking.

I have never had my hair or make-up done professionally - is this a problem?

Absoutely not! I always discuss requirements and ideas in detail beforehand so that you are comfortable and confident.

Getting your hair/make-up/nails done professionally is a really nice pampering experience so if you have never booked anyone to do this for you before, please don't be worried. Just get in touch and we can have a chat about your likes and dislikes, and you can ask me any questions.

How much do you charge?

Unless stated on the website, our pricing is tailored per booking. For example, for someone who wants a simple wedding hair style, it wouldn't be fair to charge them the same as someone who wants something elaborate.

Get in touch on 07904838156 or contact@experienceanya.com to make a no obligation enquiry.

What brands do you use?

I use a large range of professional brands as my experience has taught me that different companies excel in different products. I choose products carefully based on client requirements and sensitivities.

Here are some of the common brands in my kit:

  • MAC Cosmetics - I love their eye shadows and foundations.
  • Illamasqua - these guys do some amazing foundations but not suitable for all skin types.
  • Loreal - I use a range of make-up and hair products from Loreal - my hair colours are all Loreal as I was trained with them.
  • Maybelline - I love some of the Maybelline concealers but my kit has a range of companies to suit different skin types.

I have some allergies - is it safe for me to book you?

During our consultation, I will ask you about any treatments you are currently on or have had, allergies etc.

Some of my products are hypoallergenic however, I am not a medical expert so if you are in doubt, please do some research, ask me to use your own products or make a judgment call.

Can I use my own products?

Of course you can! If you have some favourites you would like me to use, just have them ready or let me know in advance.

I have had medical treatment - is it safe to have my hair/nails done?

The short answer is that, it really depends on your treatment and what service you would like to book. If you are unsure please consult your doctor and provide a note that states you are safe to have the service you wouold like.

Here are some common situations that could affect your service:

  • Cancer treatment - it is generally safe to have your hair and nails done but not a massage since I am not qualified in massaging cancer patients. Chemotherapy can weaken nail beds and hair but the issue is complex and is something I cannot advise on.
  • Diabetes - if you are diabetic it is generally safe for you to have your hair and nails done but your sensitivity to heat/pain etc. may be affected.
  • Psoriasis - this alongside any other skin condition will need to be discussed beforehand. Although psoriasis is not contagious, other skin conditions may be or may be worsened after getting your hair and nails done.
  • You should get a note from your doctor to confirm whether treatments are safe for you or not.

What is CND TM Shellac TM ?

CND TM Shellac TM is a hybrid nail system that applies similar to a regular polish but is cured under LED light. The system promises a high shine finish and has the capability of lasting chip free for up to 14 days (for some people more).

It is a high end brand that offers a high quality finish but as with all treatments, you have to look after it for it to deliver what it promises. Here is an Aftercare sheet to help you look after your Shellac manicure.

Many nail salons say they do 'Shellac Nails' but in actual fact use a completely different brand like OPI Gelcolor. Although the quality may be good, please do not confuse this with CND Shellac - CND is the company and Shellac is the name of the system. Broad categories like 'gel nails' are completely different.
